OPEN HOUSE
The Loudoun County Volunteer Rescue Squad hosted its annual open house on Sunday May 22. Leesburg residents were treated to an inside look at the many facets of rescue. New vehicles on display included an ambulance, the Special Emergency Response Vehicle and the Auxiliary Canteen. Guests were able to particiapte in live demonstrations, tour the Loudoun County Fire & Rescue Command Vehicle and visit with exhibitors from the Loudoun Medical Reserve Corps and the Leesburg Police Support Team. Kids enjoyed an off-road experience on the ARGO, an all terrain amphibious vehicle, could practice making calls on a 911 Simulator and release some energy in the moon bounce. The Rescue Squad Auxiliary provided hot dogs, drinks and snacks while Jersey Mike’s of Leesburg treated our guests to their famous subs. The Squad’s business partners donated over $2500 in gifts and prizes and played a key role in making the Silent Auction hugely successful. The generous donations from residents and businesses in our community enable our volunteers to continue serving you. Thank you to our many volunteers who make this event possible, you are essential to our success!
