Life Saving Award

The Loudoun County Volunteer Rescue Squad is proud to announce that Chief Wagner Grier, EMT-B and Master Deputy Earl Haussling, EMT-B were recognized at the Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce Valor Awards ceremony on Tuesday April 5.  Each was presented with the “LIFE SAVING AWARD” for 2 separate incidents where Chief Grier and Master Deputy Haussling came to the aid of patients requiring CPR.  Chief Grier was off duty  when witnessing a 70 year old male losing control of his vehicle and possibly in cardiac arrest.  In a separate incident, Master Deputy Haussling  responded to a call for a person in cardiac arrest while serving civil papers for the Sheriffs Office.  Haussling relied on his training as a Fire & Rescue volunteer and performed CPR on a 50 year old male.  The patient was stabilized and transported for further treatment.
